Activistas y organizadores comunitarios en la Ciudad de Nueva York, Frente Ayotzinapa USA y organizaciones fraternas en los Estados Unidos en solidaridad con la lucha por el regreso con vida de los 43 normalistas de Ayotzinapa, víctimas de la desaparición forzada desde el 26 y 27 de septiembre del año pasado, condenan las recientes declaraciones de la titular de la Procuraduría General de la República (PGR) del gobierno mexicano, Arely Gómez, quien en conferencia de prensa la noche del 16 de septiembre anunciara que restos humanos habrían sido supuestamente identificados como aquellos pertenecientes a Jhosivani Guerrero de la Cruz por medio de pruebas de ADN realizadas en el extranjero.
Catalogamos como reprobable e indignante que este tipo de declaraciones públicas se hayan realizado sin el previo conocimiento y autorización de los familiares quienes se enteraron por primera vez por medio de las redes sociales. Consideramos este supuesto hallazgo como otro intento ruin del gobierno mexicano por mantener la “verdad histórica” de Murillo Karam sobre la incineración de los jóvenes en el basurero de Cocula a dos semanas de que ésta hubiera sido refutada categóricamente por El Grupo Interdisciplinario de Expertos Independientes de la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (GIEI-CIDH). De la misma manera, no es de extrañarse que estas declaraciones se den en medio de una creciente ola de protesta lo cual sugiere que el gobierno mexicano mantiene un interés mayor en desviar la atención pública del caso Ayotzinapa a casi un año de la desaparición de los normalistas.
Anayeli Guerrero de la Cruz, hermana de Jhosivani y que junto a su esposo, madre y padre, continuan la busqueda por su hermano y permanecen en pie de lucha, comunicó el siguiente mensaje a través de las redes sociales:
“La familia guerrero de la cruz estamos molestos con la falta de ética profesional de la procuradora Areli Gómez por violar el compromiso que se tiene con el gobierno de dar información primero a las familias y después sacarla a los medios.
Una vez más vuelve a querer hacer creer a la sociedad que los restos encontrados si son de los normalistas.
Nosotros como familia estamos molestos de la forma de cómo nos enteramos de la noticia, que fue por medio de los medios de comunicación y no por alguna autoridad correspondiente, por qué hasta el momento ninguna autoridad se ha acercado a comunicarnos algo.
La procuradora dio su informe asegurando que las muestras de ADN analizadas si corresponden en su totalidad a Jhosivani Guerrero de la Cruz y de antemano ella tenía el conocimiento que el perfil genético es únicamente una semejanza a la familia.
Hasta ahora no tenemos la certeza de los restos óseos sean de Jhosivani porque sabemos que el gobierno nos ha mentido muchas veces que no creemos nada de lo que ellos dicen. De lo que si estamos seguros que no descansaremos hasta saber la verdad y se castigue a los culpables y seguiremos exigiendo que se continúe con las pruebas necesarias, hasta saber que esos fragmentos óseos si corresponde a Jhosivani.
Queremos dejar bien claro que al gobierno no le creemos nada porque las pruebas que él nos ha demostrado son falsa como su verdad histórica, por otra parte se nos hace mucha coincidencia que cuando supuestamente encuentran los restos de otro normalista detienen a la supuesta pieza clave del caso Ayotzina y detienen al Gil.
A través de este medio refrendamos nuestro apoyo a la familia Guerrero de la Cruz en su lucha por la verdad y la justicia frente a las mentiras históricas del corrupto y fallido gobierno mexicano.

As community organizers and activists in New York City, Frente Ayotzinapa USA and other cities across the United States in solidarity with the movement demanding the safe return of the 43 Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers College students, we condemn recent statements made by Mexico’s Attorney General, Arely Gomez, who during a press conference the night of September 16 announced that human remains were allegedly identified as those belonging to Jhosivani Guerrero de la Cruz through DNA testing carried out at Austria’s Innsbruck University. Joshivani is among 43 students who were forcibly disappeared in the Mexican Southern town of Iguala in Guerrero state on September 26th and 27th of last year.
We denounce as both reprehensible and egregious that these public statements were made without prior knowledge and consent of Jhosivani’s relatives who first found out about the news through social media. We consider these alleged findings nothing more than another petty attempt by the Mexican government to perpetuate its “historical truth,” as the government’s official investigation was infamously dubbed by former Attorney General Murillo Karam, and which maintained that the student were incinerated in a dump in the city of Cocula. This is clearly false in light of a recent report by the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts from the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, part of the Organization of American States, which found that “no evidence whatsoever exists” to support the Mexican government’s claim that the bodies of the students were cremated at the trash dump in Cocula.
Similarly, it should not go unnoticed that the Attorney General’s statements were released in the midst of growing popular protest, which would suggest that the Mexican government has an increasing interest in diverting public attention from the Ayotzinapa case as we approach a year since the disappearance of the students.
Jhosivani’s siter, Anayeli Guerrero de la Cruz, who along with her husband, mother and father, continue in the search and struggle to find her brother published the following message on social media:
“We, the Guerrero de la Cruz family, are upset by the lack of ethical professionalism shown by [Mexico’s] Attorney General Areli Gomez who violated the agreement we had with the government to provide information [related to the case] to the relatives first before it being released to the media.
Again [the government] is trying to make people believe that the [human] remains found belong to the Rural Teachers College students.
My family is upset by the way we heard the news, which was through the media and not by any competent authority, since so far no government representative has come to speak to us.
The Attorney General gave her report maintaining that the analyzed DNA samples were entirely compatible with those of Jhosivani Guerrero de la Cruz yet she had previous knowledge that the genetic profile is only a resemblance to that of the family [and therefore not conclusive].
So far we are not sure that the human remains belong to Jhosivani because we know that the government has lied to us many times before and we have learned not to believe anything they say. Only one thing we know for sure and that is that we will not rest until knowing the truth and punishing those who are guilty and will continue to demand the continuation of the necessary tests to know if these bone fragments belong to Jhosivani.
We want to make it clear that we do not trust the Mexican government at all because the evidence they have shown us is as false as their “historical truth.” Also, it is too much of a coincidence that the supposed remains of another student are found just as “El Gil,” a key suspect on the case, is apprehended.”
